The short answer: 9 to 12 months in advance for most dates, and 12 to 18 months in advance for peak season dates.
Peak Season in Florida
In Central Florida, "peak wedding season" is completely reversed from the rest of the country. While northern states peak in June and July, Florida peaks from October through April. If you are getting married on a Saturday in November, March, or April, top-tier vendors often book out 14–18 months in advance.
Why Booking Early Matters
Unlike a catering company that can take on three weddings in one weekend, or a floral team that can produce multiple centerpieces simultaneously, a boutique DJ company is strictly limited by its human talent.
When you book SBS Events, you are booking a specific, highly trained MC/DJ for your specific date. Once our calendar is full for a particular Saturday, we turn down all subsequent inquiries for that date.
The Timeline
1. Venue first: Always book your venue first. You cannot book your DJ without a confirmed date and location.
2. Key vendors next: Once the venue is locked, immediately book your "exclusive" vendors — meaning vendors who can only do one wedding per day. This is usually your Photographer, Videographer, and DJ/Entertainment.
If you are planning a short-engagement wedding (less than 6 months), don't panic! Always reach out. Fridays, Sundays, and summer dates often have more flexible availability.
