Delays are incredibly common at weddings. Traffic on I-75, hair and makeup running long, or a missing groomsman can easily push a timeline back by 30 minutes.
As professional MCs, our job is to compress the timeline invisibly so the guests never notice the delay and you don't lose any of your dancing time.
If the ceremony is delayed, we seamlessly extend the prelude music, shifting to slightly more upbeat instrumentals so the seated guests don't get restless. If the reception is running behind, we execute a "Cocktail Hour Compression" by actively using the microphone to move guests efficiently into the ballroom.
If we are still behind when dinner starts, we coordinate a "Dinner Pivot." Instead of waiting until after dinner for speeches, we coordinate with the Best Man and Maid of Honor to deliver their toasts while salads or entrees are being served. This reclaims 15 to 20 minutes of dead time, ensuring your dance floor still opens exactly when you originally planned.
